On the afternoon of November 8, 2024, Professor Ou Xiaoduo and his delegation from Guangxi University visited our institute for exchange. Academician Chen Xiangsheng, Dean of our institute and the Future Underground City Research Institute, met with guests and presided over the meeting. Professor Cui Hongzhi, Dean and Vice Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology Development at Shenzhen University, Professor Su Dong, Vice Dean of the Institute, and Chen Zhongping, a specially appointed researcher and related professional teacher of the national leading talent, attended the meeting on site. The exchange meeting was held in Room 1007, Zhili Building, Yuehai Campus (South District).

Professor Ou Xiaoduo first introduced the basic situation of the visiting team members and Guangxi Ruiyu Construction Technology Co., Ltd., and discussed the research content on leakage point detection technology of tailings ponds in karst areas and preparation technology of stabilized soil road materials based on red mud from the perspectives of sludge discharge tanks and red mud storage yards. I hope to strengthen scientific research cooperation, promote cross integration, carry out talent exchange activities, and promote innovative development in the future.

In response to Professor Ou Xiaoduo's ten-year contract, Academician Chen Xiangsheng presented his monographs "Stratum Freezing Method" and "Theoretical Research and Practice of Stratum Freezing Method" to Professor Ou Xiaoduo.

Professor Su Dong introduced the situation of the Future Underground City Research Institute from the aspects of research platform construction, faculty overview, innovation of scientific research achievements, and future development planning.

Chen Zhongping, a specially appointed researcher, gave a comprehensive introduction and exchange on the comprehensive utilization and treatment of tailings resources such as red mud in China, as well as the work he has led his team to carry out.

At the meeting, participants from both sides had in-depth exchanges and discussions on technical issues such as consolidation and solidification of tailings mud, preparation of red mud filling materials, and prevention of heavy metal pollution in solid waste, jointly promoting specific future cooperation directions. To make greater contributions to the green, low-carbon and healthy development of the country and the construction of a beautiful China with green mountains and clear waters!
