In order to deepen the reform of education for outstanding engineers, strengthen the cultivation of top students in basic disciplines, strive to create top innovative talents, continue to show the teaching achievements of innovative mapping carriers in universities, and set up a communication platform for the education of digital mapping technology innovation, on July 29, 2023, the "16th National Students' Competition of Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modelling Innovation", sponsored by the Professional Committee of Drafting Technology of the Chinese Institute of Graphic Design, the Professional Committee of Product Information Modelling of the Chinese Institute of Graphic Design, the National University Students' Competition of Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modelling Innovation Organising Committee, and hosted by Chongqing Jiaotong University, was successfully concluded in Chongqing.

In this competition, the architecture team of Shenzhen University, consisting of Shen Enqi, Yang Zihan, Huang Jiaxin, Liu Xinru, Tan Liangyi, Xie Xinyue, Tan Wenyu, Guan Yanjun and Lin Kaijie, started from June, gave up the rest time of the summer holiday, and, under the leadership of Mr Xiong Chen and the guidance of Mr Yang Lei, vice dean of the university, Prof. Lili Sui, Mr Ding Xiaobo and Mr Han Kaihang, they rose up to the challenge and went ahead all the way, and after a fierce competition, they finally got the first prize of the individual all-around of the architecture category in six items, the second prize in two items, the third prize in one item, as well as the second prize of the team.

The competition attracted 1,188 teams from 740 colleges and universities across China, a record high. After three days of fierce competition, the competition came to an end on 31 July. As the highest level of "national" competition in the field of graphology in China, the competition has been held for sixteen consecutive years since 2008, and is known as "the Olympics of graphology", which is a difficult competition. The competition is divided into team competition and individual competition, and the proportion of the first, second and third prize winners in the team competition is 10%, 15% and 20% of the number of participating teams respectively. The first, second and third prizes of the individual competition are awarded at 8%, 12% and 15% of the number of participants respectively. Since the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering participated in this event, it has won good results for many consecutive years, which could not be separated from the leadership of the College, teachers have been careful guidance and strong support. Here again, we would like to warmly congratulate the participants for their excellent results! Congratulations to the construction team of Shenzhen University!
