Notice on Adjusting the Work Arrangements for Some State-Sponsored Study Abroad Programs in 2020 — Welcome to the China Scholarship Council website! https://www.csc.edu.cn/chuguo/s/1807

To implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic and the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, to cooperate with the epidemic prevention and control work, and in light of actual circumstances, the China Scholarship Council has decided to adjust the work arrangements for the relevant state-sponsored study abroad programs in the first half of 2020, and hereby notifies as follows:

1. The admission results for the state-sponsored Senior Research Scholars, Visiting Scholars and Postdoctoral Researchers program will be announced in late April (tentatively).

2. The work arrangements for the National High-Level University State-Sponsored Postgraduate Program and the Special Program for Training Artistic Talents will be postponed by one month (tentatively). After the adjustment, the online application period is April 10–30, the deadline for receiving units to submit materials is May 12, and the admission results will be announced in late June. Applicants are requested to communicate well with the inviting party before applying online, so as to avoid situations in which admission notices/invitation letters automatically lapse due to the postponement of the admission time.

For applicants who are unable to obtain a foreign language qualification certificate on time due to the epidemic, the above programs will allow them to apply online first; if admitted, the admitted person may be dispatched only after meeting the foreign language requirement.

The time adjustment for the National High-Level University State-Sponsored Postgraduate Program covers all channels under the program, including the "employer/individual cooperation channel" and the "existing CSC cooperation channel."

3. The work arrangements for the Special Program for Training Talents in the Western Region and the local cooperation program will be postponed by one month (tentatively). After the adjustment, the online application period is May 1–15, the deadline for receiving units to submit materials is May 22, and the admission results will be announced in August.

4. The first batch of the Young Backbone Teachers Overseas Training Program is canceled, and the arrangements for the second batch of application and admission remain unchanged.

5. The work arrangements for the International and Regional Studies and High-Level Foreign Language Talent Training Program will be postponed by one month (tentatively). After the adjustment, the online application period is April 20–30, the deadline for receiving units to submit materials is May 12, and the admission results will be announced in late June.

6. The supplementary application deadline for the 2020 Innovative Talent International Cooperation Training Program has been adjusted from the original March 10 to April 30, and the approved programs will be announced in June.

7. The work arrangements for some overseas cooperation programs and China–foreign cooperation scholarships will be postponed; please refer to the appendix for details.

8. If there are any adjustments to the work arrangements for other state-sponsored study abroad programs, they will be published on the China Scholarship Council website in a timely manner.

Relevant receiving units, recommending units and the education offices (sections) of relevant embassies (consulates) abroad are requested to carry out work accordingly; our unit will no longer issue separate written notices.
