Cultivation goals: Based on the construction demands in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, this subject enables students to accurately master the international cutting-edge trends of civil engineering through the study of system theory, method training and practice in international exchanges. It also aims at cultivating the talents with the science exploration spirit, innovation consciousness, innovation ability and international vision. The graduated students should also be able to analyze and solve coastal complex engineering problems and to conduct scientific research.
Acquisition of Knowledge: Master the core knowledge areas of mathematics and natural science foundation, mechanics principles and methods, structural basic principles and analysis methods, construction principles and technologies, engineering project economics and management, computer application technologies, etc.
Main courses: Engineering Survey, Material Mechanics, Housing Architecture, Structural Mechanics, Civil Engineering Materials, Concrete Structure Design Principles, Soil Mechanics, Civil Engineering Construction, Steel Structure Design Principles, Foundation Engineering, Engineering Cost Management, High-Rise Building Structure Design, Seismic Design of Buildings, etc.

Cultivation features: This major focuses on the combination of theory and practice, and focuses on training students' comprehensive ability to think independently, teamwork, analyze and solve problems. Students are actively encouraged to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship activities such as subject competitions. Relying on top level scientific research platforms the undergraduate students are provided with opportunities to participate in practical scientific research projects. In order to broaden the students' international perspective, some excellent students would be financially supported to visit and study abroad for free.
Characteristic experimental course of Intelligent Construction: Based on the civil engineering major, with information technology as the link, and mechanical engineering and control engineering as the tools, it will reflect the new development of the construction industry in the intelligent era and meet the demands of industry talents by developing cultivation programs separately, hiring industrial mentors and excellent teachers, small-class teaching, and engineering case-based teaching method.
Micro-major of integrated application of building information technology: The cultivation objective of the micro-major is to collaboratively mold high-quality compound personnel by setting 8 intensive courses covering the complete chain of the entire life cycle of the building structure, establishment of an off-campus teaching team and enterprise mentor system, combination of information technology and cutting-edge technology of building industrialization, focus on the core industrial technology and theory of building informationization, and integration of new industrial technologies such as BIM and prefabricated structure.
Honors bachelor degree program of Civil Engineering in Shenzhen University: With the goal of cultivating students' broad basic knowledge, high innovative thinking ability, profound academic research literacy and extensive practical application skills, elite selection teaching mode is adopted, which is composed of 10 professional honor courses, and the scale of Bachelor of Honors is controlled within 5%, so as to cultivate high-level professional talents with "solid professional theory and strong practical ability".
