On the morning of November 23, 2025, Professor Fang Dongping of Tsinghua University visited our institute and conducted academic exchanges. Academician Chen Xiangsheng, President of the Academy and the Institute of Future Underground Cities, met with the guests and presided over the meeting. Prof. Ding Zhikun, Vice President of the Academy, Prof. Su Dong, Vice President of the Institute, Prof. Fu Yanbin, Chief Engineer, Prof. Hu Mingwei, Chief Informaticist, Prof. Fan Cheng, Head of the Department of Engineering and Management Science of the Academy, and Associate Heads of the Department, Associate Prof. Wu Zezhou and Associate Prof. Liao Longhui, as well as more than 30 SZU faculty members and students attended the meeting on-site, which was held in 1007 Conference Room of Zhili Building, Yughai Campus (South), Room 1007, Zhili Building.

Prof. Fang Dongping gave an academic report titled “Construction Safety Management Based on CBS and AI - Problem-oriented Application Research”. Starting from the challenges and opportunities of the construction industry, the report focuses on the core issues of construction safety, the mechanism of unsafe behaviors and intelligent control strategies, and introduces the construction and application of the BESAFE intelligent system, and demonstrates the value of the system in reducing the accident rate and optimizing the management efficiency through the engineering cases of “Tree of Life”.

Academician Chen Xiangsheng expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to Prof. Fang Dongping, and looked forward to deepening and expanding the depth and breadth of scientific research cooperation in the future, advancing the exchange and cultivation of high-level talents, and enhancing the capacity of collaborative innovation and joint research in related fields.

During the meeting, Prof. Fang Dongping and the participating teachers and students had an in-depth discussion and exchanges on the cutting-edge issues in the related fields.
