Recently, the International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT) announced and awarded the 2025 ISTT No-Dig Award Winners, and the “Close-fit, twin tunnel pipe jacking technology for subway station construction” (Close-fit, twin tunnel pipe jacking technology for subway station construction), led by academician Chen Xiangsheng, president of the Academy, won the Innovative Technology Award. The “Close-fit twin tunnel pipe jacking technology for subway station construction” (Close-fit , twin tunnel pipe jacking technology for subway station construction), led by President Chen Xiangsheng of our academy, was honored with the No-Dig Award. This is another honor after this technology was selected as one of the top ten scientific and technological advances of Shenzhen University in 2023 and China Non-excavation Outstanding Technology Award in 2024.

The “Double-Cavity Dense Pipe Jacking Construction Technology for Underground Metro Stations” is the first of its kind in the world, which integrates the new assembly structure design concept, the R&D of super-large rectangular pipe jacking equipment and complete sets of construction technology, as well as the intelligent control technology of the whole life cycle of the station's construction and operation and maintenance, and significantly improves the green and intelligent level of the project construction and provides a brand-new path to the high-quality development of the underground space of the city. It can provide a brand-new path for the high-quality development of urban underground space.

On November 6, 2025, Prof. Shou Kejian, Chairman of the International Society for Trenchless Technology and Professor of Chung Hsing University, Taiwan, visited our institute and presented certificates and trophies to the R&D team.
