In accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Lomonosov Moscow State University on Cooperation in Scientific Research, Teaching and Culture and the Agreement between the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and St. Petersburg State University of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in Education, entrusted by the Ministry of Education, the China Scholarship Council will continue to select students to study at the above two universities in 2020.

The online application period for the 2020 Exchange Scholarships with Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University is January 1–10, 2020. Applicants must log in to the State-Sponsored Study Abroad Management Information Platform (http://apply.csc.edu.cn) to apply online and upload application materials as required. All receiving units shall send (deliver) the formal recommendation official letter and the list of recommended personnel to the Department of European, Asian and African Affairs of the China Scholarship Council before January 15, 2020.

Moscow State University

1. Agreed quota

• Visiting scholars, joint-training doctoral students: 20 people

• Doctoral degree students: 2 people

• Master's degree students: 2 people

2. Selection categories and study periods

• Visiting scholar: 3–10 months

• Joint-training doctoral student: 6–10 months

• Doctoral degree student: 36–48 months (may include one year of language foundation study)

• Master's degree student: 24–36 months (may include one year of language foundation study)

3. Selected majors

Physics, chemistry, mathematics, geology, materials science, Russian language and literature, and other advantageous majors of Moscow State University.

4. Funding content

During the study period, tuition at Moscow State University is waived, and the China Scholarship Council provides the exchange scholarship allowance for the study-abroad personnel and one round-trip international airfare. For doctoral and master's degree students, if they fail the Moscow State University language examination, they must take one year of language foundation study, and the tuition for the foundation period is borne by themselves.

St. Petersburg State University

• Visiting scholars, joint-training doctoral students: 10 people

• Doctoral degree students: 10 people

2. Selection categories and study periods

• Visiting scholar: 3–10 months

• Joint-training doctoral student: 6–10 months

• Doctoral degree student: 36–48 months (may include one year of language foundation study)

3. Selected majors

Nanotechnology, materials science, biomedicine, information technology, Russian language and literature, and other advantageous disciplines and majors of St. Petersburg State University.

4. Funding content

During the study period, tuition at St. Petersburg State University is waived, and the China Scholarship Council provides the exchange scholarship allowance for the study-abroad personnel and one round-trip international airfare. For doctoral and master's degree students, if they fail the St. Petersburg State University language examination, they must take one year of language foundation study, and the tuition for the foundation period is borne by themselves.
