Our College Honored as an Advanced Unit in Internationalization of Shenzhen University for 2019–2020

To promote the implementation of the university's internationalization action plan, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Shenzhen University held the 2020 Internationalization Work Conference and Foreign Affairs Training on December 4–5, 2020. Executive Dean of our college, LONG Wujian, and foreign affairs secretary WANG Xingjun attended the meeting.

The conference first invited CAO Saixian, Deputy Director of the Office of the Leading Group for Promoting the Development of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, to deliver a report titled "Seizing the Momentum of the Two Zones, Marching Toward First-Class." From a policy perspective, she explained Shenzhen's important position and significance as a core city of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and the pilot demonstration zone for socialism with Chinese characteristics, and emphatically highlighted the foundational and long-term significance of higher education in the development of the two zones. Subsequently, QIU Yongle, a researcher from the Planning and Development Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, conducted training for the participants under the title "Introduction to Shenzhen's Progress in Promoting Urban Internationalization," briefly introducing the progress and measures of Shenzhen's international city development across multiple dimensions such as education provision, industrial planning, business environment and talent attraction, and providing relevant training on foreign affairs reception etiquette. Finally, LIU Li, Director of the International Students Office of Fudan University, delivered a report titled "Shouldering the Mission of International Exchange and Cooperation, Improving the Quality of Education for International Students in China," sharing Fudan University's excellent experience in attracting, enrolling and managing international students, and putting forward opinions and suggestions on Shenzhen University's internationalization work.

In the second day of the conference, all departments and colleges of the university held enthusiastic exchanges and discussions and gave summary reports at the meeting. Afterwards, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office presented awards to units that had performed outstandingly in internationalization work during 2019–2020. Thanks to our outstanding performance in internationalization work this year, our college was awarded the title of Advanced Unit in Internationalization Work for 2019–2020. This award is based on quantitative scoring of all colleges of the university according to indicators such as the proportion of foreign teachers, the number of student exchange and training programs, the proportion of degree-seeking international students, internationalized courses and internationalized programs. Our college ultimately stood out among more than 20 colleges and became one of the six award-winning units.
