Notice on Selection for the 2019 Shenzhen University "Prestigious University Further Study Scholarship"

In accordance with the Measures of Shenzhen University for the Administration of Student Overseas Exchange and Study Scholarships (Trial), our university has established the "Prestigious University Further Study Scholarship" to support graduating students to pursue master's or doctoral degrees at top universities and research institutes abroad (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan).

I. Basic Requirements for Applying for the 2019 Prestigious University Further Study Scholarship:

1. Love the motherland, consciously abide by national laws and regulations and all the rules and regulations of the university; be honest and trustworthy with good moral character; have not received any university-level or college-level disciplinary punishment; have passed all courses with no failing grades.

2. Be a member of the Class of 2019 who has been admitted to a world-renowned university abroad for a higher-level degree; priority is given to supporting the university's key development disciplines.

3. Have not received funding from government-sponsored scholarships such as the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

II. Award Standards:

Applicants who have enrolled in institutions ranked in the latest comprehensive top 20 of the world university rankings (referring to the QS World University Rankings, THE Times Higher Education World University Rankings, US News Best Global Universities Rankings, or the ARWU ShanghaiRanking's Academic Ranking of World Universities, the same below) or in the top 10 of the ARWU subject rankings. The award standard is RMB 100,000 per person. Please refer to Appendix 1 for the ranking table (2019 World University Top 20 Ranking Table).

III. Application Method and Materials to Prepare:

Application method: From December 20 to 31, 2019, use your original Shenzhen University student ID to log in to the online platform of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office at https://szupu.szu.edu.cn/fa → Scholarship section → 2019 Shenzhen University Prestigious University Further Study Scholarship Application Form → fill in the application form and upload relevant supporting materials (attachments). Applications after the deadline will not be accepted.

Electronic materials:

1. Application form;

2. Scanned copies of the student card of the overseas university attended and the admission notice;

3. Other proof of excellence (published papers, award certificates at university level or above, etc.).

IV. Evaluation and Standards

The International Exchange and Cooperation Office reviews the materials of the students to be awarded. After evaluation, the proposed award list will be publicly announced for 3 days via the campus official notice, and after no objections are raised, the award list will be reported to the university for approval.

V. Scholarship Disbursement and Supervision

Students who have obtained scholarship eligibility shall submit an exchange study report (1,000 words or more) and an electronic copy of their graduation certificate or one-year transcript, and proof of published papers to fanqi@szu.edu.cn between September 1 and 15, 2020. After passing the review by the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the scholarship and certificate will be issued to the award-winning students.

For students in any of the following situations, the university may cancel their scholarship eligibility and recover the disbursed amount and certificate:

1. Falsification of application materials or receiving disciplinary punishment from relevant university departments;

2. Confirmed plagiarism, cheating or academic misconduct abroad, or failure to meet the requirements of the scholarship commitment letter;

3. Other violations of laws, regulations or discipline that the university determines require recovery of the scholarship and certificate.

The final right of interpretation rests with the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.
