To the relevant training units and new rising supervisors:

In accordance with the Interim Measures of Shenzhen University for the Recognition of New Rising Graduate Supervisors, the list of new rising supervisors for 2019 has been produced, and the measures provide policy support for new rising supervisors to recruit international graduate students. The relevant matters concerning the recruitment of international doctoral students by new rising supervisors in 2020 are hereby notified as follows:

I. Admission Application Procedures:

New rising supervisors who intend to recruit international doctoral students but do not yet have doctoral supervisor qualifications should first contact the relevant doctoral program, and, after obtaining consent, find a supervisor with doctoral supervisor qualifications for joint recruitment. Please fill in Appendix 1, the 2020 Application Form for New Rising Supervisors to Recruit International Doctoral Students, as required, and, after signing by the relevant supervisor and the person in charge of the discipline program, submit it to the admitting college of the doctoral program within the specified time.

II. Application Methods

Method 1: Unified submission by the College of International Exchange

(1) Deadline: February 28 (Friday)

(2) The new rising supervisor submits the application form to the admitting discipline program. After the person in charge of the discipline program signs and approves it, the foreign affairs secretary of the discipline program or the college submits the application form to the College of International Exchange for unified reporting to the Graduate School. For new rising supervisors who pass the review by the Graduate School, the College of International Exchange will add their names to the doctoral supervisor database of the admission system.

Method 2: Individual submission

(1) Deadline: March 6 (Friday)

(2) New rising supervisors who fail to submit their admission applications within the deadline must complete the approval process on their own. The new rising supervisor submits the application to the admitting discipline program. After the person in charge of the discipline program signs and approves it, the supervisor personally submits the application form to the Graduate School for review. After passing the review by the Graduate School, it is handed to the College of International Exchange for filing, and the supervisor's name is added to the doctoral supervisor database of the admission system.

All new rising supervisors are requested to apply strictly within the time limit; applications after the deadline will not be accepted.
