The Shenzhen Universiade Study Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the "Foundation") is a foundation specially established with funds raised by Shenzhen to carry forward the spirit of the Universiade, promote international youth cultural and educational exchanges, and dedicated to funding international students.

The purpose of the Foundation is to implement the strategy of giving priority to educational development, cultivate internationalized talents, promote the world's understanding of Chinese culture, and advance exchanges and cooperation between Shenzhen and other parts of the world in education, culture, science and technology and other fields. The Foundation's selection of students to be funded in 2023 has commenced.

The Announcement on the Selection of Students to Be Funded by the Shenzhen Universiade Study Foundation in 2023 is published simultaneously on the Foundation's website (https://www.suisf.org.cn/info/1009/1251.htm) and its WeChat official account.

Funding programs and scope

1. Funding overseas students to receive full-time undergraduate-and-above degree education at institutions of higher learning within China;

2. Funding overseas students to study Chinese (for more than half a year) at universities running programs in Shenzhen, or overseas students to receive associate-degree education at vocational colleges in Shenzhen;

3. Funding domestic students to go to overseas institutions of higher learning to receive full-time master's-degree-and-above higher education (30 places citywide);

4. Funding full-time students of universities running programs in Shenzhen (including senior technician schools, the same below) to go abroad for short-term exchange and research activities;

5. Funding full-time students of overseas universities to come to universities running programs in Shenzhen for short-term exchange and research activities;

6. Funding students who have previously been funded by the Foundation to continue their studies in China or abroad (excluding repeating) or to receive full-time degree education at a higher level;

7. Funding students from Shenzhen's sister cities to come to universities running programs in Shenzhen to receive full-time education;

8. Establishing a hardship grant for students in difficulty, providing funding to overseas students from families in difficulty who receive full-time undergraduate-and-above degree education at institutions of higher learning within China.

Selection criteria and requirements

1. Domestic students receiving funding to study abroad shall love the motherland, be excellent in both conduct and study, have a good image and good health, with a balance of male and female students. Priority is given to athletes ranked in the top 8 of the Olympic Games who are studying abroad, to students entering universities ranked in the world's top 100, to students from the western region and the Shenzhen region and from families with financial difficulties, and to students with a strong willingness to return to serve the country after completing their studies.

2. Students who have already enjoyed similar domestic awards (scholarships/grant) in 2023 are not included in the application scope of the various funding programs.

3. The funding for full-time students of universities running programs in Shenzhen to apply for short-term overseas exchange and research activity programs (item 4) does not include the following four situations: exchange students and visiting students with overseas institutions of higher learning; students going abroad for classes during joint education programs; students whose overseas exchange and research activities last more than one year (including one year); and students who have already gone abroad before September 1, 2023.

The selection procedures specified in the Announcement on the Selection of Students to Be Funded by the Shenzhen Universiade Study Foundation in 2023 mainly include individual application, university recommendation, preliminary qualification review, expert review, council deliberation, and online public announcement.

Students who meet the conditions and are in need are welcome to apply according to the procedures.

Students of Shenzhen University who meet the application conditions can visit the "Shenzhen Universiade Study Foundation" website to view the Announcement on the Selection of Students to Be Funded by the Shenzhen Universiade Study Foundation in 2023, and download and fill in the application form and submit application materials according to the announcement requirements.

Submission time

According to the requirements of the Shenzhen Universiade Study Foundation's 2023 selection funding application materials, the university will publicly announce the list of program applicants (the announcement period shall be no fewer than 7 days).

Deadline: Please submit your application materials to the International Exchange and Cooperation Office (Room 321, Administration Building, Teacher FAN: 26534940) before 17:30 on May 22. (In the application form, the university recommendation opinion should first be filled in by the college with the college leader's signature and college seal.)

Overseas students are requested to apply to the College of International Exchange (please note relevant notices for specific information).
